AI AS A TOOL FOR TEACHING LEGAL ARGUMENTATION IN LAW SCHOOLS

The use of artificial intelligence in the study of law offers an opportunity for creative applications in the teaching of legal argumentation and legal reasoning skills. This paper explores the potential of AI as a learning resource for law schools, including the prospect of advanced systems, such as automatic legal reasoners, simulation programs, and chatbots, being used to teach argumentative generation. By reviewing the literature and examining practices, the study anticipates the potential of AI technology according to which students will be able to write legal documents with the use of an AI in a virtual context, be involved in an argumentation of legal reasoning in real time, and have a technology respond to their arguments. While AI is in no possible certain position to replace the role of a lecturer in teaching the skill of critical analysis, it could certainly be viewed as a technology that enhances the learning experience, cultivates more student interaction, and connects theory to practice. The paper also recognises a range of challenges, including ethics, data security, and increasing reliance on technology-based resources in a professional preparation capacity.
